HISTORY
It’s often been quoted that the journey of a thousand miles, almost always begins with a single step. One small step that has gone on to impact the lives of many many wonderful folks across the horizon.
1970’s
1970’s - That first seed was planted in 1971, at Coimbatore, a town with a mighty entrepreneurial spirit. Here the seeds were sown for what would come next, by a first-generation entrepreneur who, armed with his knowledge and can-do attitude started their journey in business.
1980’s
As an agricultural hub, Coimbatore was the perfect burgeoning place for Consolidated to start off, and soon was a leading player amongst their competitors as a distributor of agricultural produce.
1990’s
Having grown into a sizeable enterprise, Consolidated took it’s considerable experience in the business field and ventured into the next stage of it’s evolution, and soon became the go to distributors of the world famous Sony brand.
2000’s
A sign of things to come, when at the turn of the new millennium, ushering in new ideas, came the wave that is the second generation, looking to take the organisation to the next phase of it’s growth with new distribution businesses of Titan & LG whilst also looking for newer avenues to do business in.
2006
The game changer. The first of many to come. Raakesh the second generation entrepreneur decided that it was the right time to venture into the extremely promising & growing retail sector. Partnering with Sony, and opening the organization's first retail store, with an amazing 60 feet wide front facade, this store was truly the future of tomorrow’s experience, being given to customers today. The success lead to expansion in more cities.
2011
The first byte of a truly epic partnership. With the opening of our first Apple Premium Reseller store in Coimbatore called iPlanet, Consolidated began a truly amazing journey with a brand that would spawn multiple stores and provide more exciting channels to do business. iPlanet is one of the brand stores in South India that provides the best in world-class customer experience & delight.
2014
After bringing the retail space experience of the brand iPlanet to smaller tier towns in Tamil Nadu, iPlanet also started iPlanet Care, an Apple Authorised Service Provider, to support our customers with complete solutions for our customers.
2015
Continuing the journey of our retail business, Consolidated also ventured into a new segment of the market, to help working women customers, with our partnership with Mia by Tanishq, a jewellery brand that caters to a specific catchment. Our experience in this segment enabled us to have two of the best partner run Mia premium stores in Bangalore that are great experience zones for our customers.
2019
A watershed year, as we used our past experience to scale up to the next level. We entered into a new vertical by entering the B2B channel with Apple, setting up our Enterprise business. Another wonderful moment from this year is when we aggressively acquired another Apple partner and with this we entered the Chennai market with four stores, subsequently growing to eight stores in and around Chennai.
2020
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we scaled our business and provided amazing service and support, enabling us to scale new peaks. In addition, we diversified into the Wellness sector, by partnering with India’a largest Cross Fit brand named Cult.Fit. Opening seven gyms across South India, we have a unique knowledge now in the business of health that we are looking to expand on.
2022
Another feather in our cap, with our fourth collaboration and partnership with Apple in the Education channel. This made Consolidated the only partner in India with all four business channels with Apple ie. Retail, Service, Enterprise and Education.
2023
The year of many firsts! Achieving the mark of a 1000Crore company by the FY, our next drive was to open Eleven brand new iPlanet stores to aggressively scale our footprint across South India, reaching four new cities. And we were done with that, with us opening our iconic Apple Premium Partner store, at Indiranagar, Bangalore. This is India’s largest Apple Premium Partner store and is the crown jewel of our stores.
